Sweetie Still Lost in the Snow

Two lost pets located

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue hasn't given up on finding the lovable beagle they named "Sweetie."

Volunteers are out in force in the frigid weather, looking for  the happy-go-lucky beagle. Sweetie was saved from a kill shelter a few weeks ago and brought to the Washington area. She slipped away from her foster mom.

Hope is very high in finding Sweetie. Solid tips are coming in from the Prince George's County area.

But already some good has come of the search.  Volunteer Daphne Levitas said in trying to find Sweetie,  they rescued two other lost dogs. The first is a boxer they  nicknamed "Big Mac" because that is the food they used to lure him to safety.  He was found in Adelphi.  The other is a female dachshund mix found in Cheverly.  Contact  Homeward Trails Animal Rescue if you think they have your pup.

Back to Sweetie.  People seeing Sweetie's picture on flyers are calling in with leads.  Most recently she has been spotted twice in the Morningside neighborhood of Prince George's County.  That's where professional dog tracker Samantha Connelly and Salsa, her trusty search and rescue golden retriever are hot on her trail.  Salsa sniffed Sweetie's bed and is following the scent.  Last year Samantha and Salsa tracked twenty lost dogs. And found all twenty.

So there is great  hope Sweetie will be found.  If you see Sweetie, don't try to catch her.  She is very shy and will run and hide.  Call

the number on Sweetie's flyer: 1-877-MUT-A-WOL.  The sigtings of her so far indicate she is in good shape.  So there is great hope to find her alive and well, even with a snowstorm on the way.
