Accused East Coast Rapist in Virginia

Aaron Thomas extradited from Connecticut

A man suspected in a decade-long series of rapes and attacks on woman from Virginia to Connecticut is in custody in Prince William County.

Aaron Thomas was arrested in his hometown of New Haven in March. Virginia prosecutors petitioned for Thomas to face trial in the commonwealth first. Connecticut officials agreed to the request for extradition.

DNA linked Thomas to rapes and other attacks on 17 women, authorities said.

Thomas will be arraigned Wednesday morning in Manassas.
