A Maryland man is now behind bars for his connection to a bank robbery in District Heights, Maryland.

Jalmalda Durrell Redish, 39, of District Heights has been arrested and charged with armed robbery.  Police said he is responsible for a bank hold-up a Wachovia Bank on the 5800 block of Silver Hill Road.

On June 13, 2011 shortly after 4:00 pm police were called to the bank for a report of a robbery.  Witnesses said a man had entered the bank and implied that he had a gun when he demanded money.  The tellers, fearing for their safety,  handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber fled before police arrived.  They searched the area, but came up empty-handed.

Police continued to pursue the case.  Four days later, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit arrested Redish on an armed robbery charge.
