Suspect in Georgetown Stabbing Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

District police say a man charged with killing his father suffered an apparent heart attack and died a day after he was arrested.

Officers found 88-year-old Leroi Elliott dead from stab wounds in his home in Georgetown early Sunday. Police say his wife, 81-year-old Vaughn, was seriously injured in the attack.

Police say Leroi Elliott's son, 56-year-old Bradford Nelson Elliott, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed.

Authorities say Bradford Elliott was taken to a hospital for a treatment of cuts to his hands. Police say he went into cardiac arrest and was admitted to the hospital.

On Monday, police say Bradford Elliott went into cardiac arrest again and died.
