Suspect Sought in Murder at Greenbrier Shopping Center in Fredericksburg

Police are searching for the suspect in a fatal shooting in a Virginia shopping center earlier this month.

Stevie Montrel Adams, 37, is suspected in the killing of 23-year-old Alon Alvin Clipper, the Fredericksburg Police Department said in a press release Tuesday.

Clipper was shot July 1 at the Greenbrier Shopping Center parking lot in the 2000 block of Plank Road in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Police received a call for shots fired at the shopping center parking lot shortly before 2 a.m. They found shell casings and called detectives to investigate the scene, according to the statement.

Minutes later, police learned that Clipper was brought to the Mary Washington Hospital with gunshot wounds. He later died as a result of his injuries, according to the release.

Police said Adams is wanted on felony charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Adams is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he has no fixed address but is known to frequent the greater Fredericksburg area.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information about the incident or Adams' whereabouts to call police at 540-373-3122 or give an anonymous tip by texting 847-411 with "FPDtip" followed by the message. People are warned not to approach Adams if they see him.
