Suspect Charged in Alexandria Homicide

Police arrested a man in charged him with murder in the death of an Alexandria man over the weekend.

The body of 30-year-old Mark Earl Ives was found before 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the 5400 block of Broadmoor Street. Investigators believe that Ives was assaulted and died from upper body trauma.

An autopsy by the Office of the Medical Examiner is pending to determine the exact cause of death.

Police announced the arrest of 30-year-old Manuel F. Garces Monday.
