Suspect Arrested in Rite Aid Shooting

Manager shot in back during apparent robbery attempt

Police arrested a suspect in the shooting of a Rite Aid manager during an apparent robbery attempt last week.

D.C. police arrested 53-year-old Ricky Vinston Thursday night after receiving a tip from someone who recognized him from the surveillance video shown on a news broadcast.

A man spent some time in the Rite Aid in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE before pulling the gun about 12:30 p.m. The store manager was shot in the back.

Charges are pending.
