A sleeping woman was sexually assaulted in her home Monday afternoon and her attacker is still at large, police said.
At about 4:30 p.m., a male suspect broke into a woman’s apartment in the 3200 block of Swann Road in Suitland, Maryland. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, confronted the victim and assaulted her.
Prince George’s County Police began their efforts to find the suspect Wednesday night by passing out Crime Solvers fliers with information about the assault. They focused in the area around the home where the attack took place.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect in this case.
The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build between 6-foot and 6-foot-3. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black baseball cap and all-black clothing.

Neighbors living near the apartment where the assault took place said the area is typically quiet and safe. They worry the suspect may return if he isn’t caught soon.
