Students Expected to Plead Guilty in Dorm Drug Lab Bust

Two students arrested in October for allegedly using a Georgetown University dorm room as a drug lab are expected to plead guilty to manufacturing an illegal and rare hallucinogenic.

Court documents filed Thursday charge Charles Smith and John Perrone with manufacturing the drug DMT and say the students' lawyers have reached an agreement with prosecutors to resolve the matter. No date was set for a hearing, but the documents said the pair will enter a plea within two weeks. A hearing scheduled for Monday was canceled.

Smith, a Georgetown University student, and Perrone, a University of Richmond student, have been living at home with their parents in Andover, Mass., since being released following their arrest.

Officials at first suspected they had discovered a meth lab at Georgetown's Harbin Hall.
