"The store owner is definitely a hero."

That's what Prince George's County police said about the man who wrestled a gun from a robbery suspect Tuesday night and then shot and killed him.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m. at the Washington Food Zone on Livingston Road in Fort Washington, Md.  Police said two men walked in armed with a gun and demanded money.  The store owner then grabbed the weapon from the suspects and opened fire, killing one of the them.

One other customer was inside the store at the time.

"I'm pretty sure the citizens of Prince George's County would like to thank him," Prince George's County police officer Larry Johnson said. "We of course would like to thank him."

The shooting victim's name has not been released.  The second suspect ran out of the store after the shooting and remains at large.
