Metro “Flasher” Has Lewd Past Aboard WMATA

A 22-year-old D.C. man arrested for showing women lewd photos at Metro stations has a past of indecent behavior aboard the transit system.

Metro Police say Steven Andrew Slaughter approached several women between Jan. 14 and 23 at Metro stations. Slaughter would allegedly tell women he was raising money for a youth organization, but then showed a lewd photo of himself to the women.

This isn't Slaughter's first brush with Metro Police.

During the January incidents, he was on pre-trial release for masturbating aboard a Red Line train, as well as lifting a woman's skirt at the Woodley Park station. Slaughter pleaded guilty to those charges last month, and was sentenced to one year probation.

Additionally, Metro Police say Slaughter was charged with simple assault for spitting on a Good Samaritan who tried to intervene when someone was being harassed on a Red Line train.

“This case shows a clear pattern of disturbing and unacceptable behavior,” Metro Transit Police Chief Ron Pavlik said in a release. “Sexual harassment, inappropriate touching and lewd behavior have absolutely no place on Metro, and we will use all tools at our disposal to arrest those who commit such acts.”

Slaughter is behind bars and will face a judge on Valentine's Day.
