St. Mary's Sheriff on the Lookout for Stolen Motorized Cooler

Some cars are stolen for their parts. Some are stolen because of their brand. But in the case of a Great Mills, Maryland, burglary, a vehicle was stolen for its capacity to carry beer.

Sometime between Feb. 14 and March 7, someone broke into the garage of a home in the 45700 block of Horsehead Lane. But instead of going for the cars inside, the burglar stole a Cruzin Cooler — a motorized, food and drink container that doubles as a scooter — according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Cruzin Cooler’s website describes the product as one that “combines two basic necessities of life, the ability to have cold food or a beverage handy along with the means to get somewhere, without walking.” The company’s Facebook page has multiple photos showing the vehicle being used at a variety of sporting events, being raced, and even used as a gun rack.

The sheriff is asking anyone with information regarding this burglary to call Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333, or text a tip to TIP239 and “CRIMES” at 274637. Information that leads to an arrest or indictment can merit a $1,000 reward. That’s just enough to buy yourself Cruzin Cooler’s 1000 watt model, which retails for $949.
