A man found dead in the snow in southeast D.C. was a patient at St. Elizabeths Hospital.
Daniel Ellis was discovered on a sidewalk Thursday afternoon in the 2400 block of Shannon Place SE -- about two miles from the hospital -- police said. It was not clear how long the 56-year-old had been lying in the snow before he was found.
Foul play is not suspected in the death, police said, but they have not determined whether the death was weather related. The medical examiner's office says the cause of death has not been determined.
St. Elizabeths is Washington's psychiatric hospital to treat people with serious mental illness.
