Springfield, Va., Man Charged After Allegedly Passing Out in Car With Children

A Springfield, Va., man faces several charges after allegedly passing out in a parked car with children in his car.

A resident found a child outside a home on of Berkeley Court in Sterling around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, and then discovered an unconscious man in a parked car, police said. A second child was also inside the car, they said.

The driver, Joshua L. Beruete, 25, is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, two counts of felony child endangerment, and driving on a revoked license.

The children were turned over to family members.

Beruete is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
