Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Springfield, Va.

Police have charged a man with obstruction of justice for allegedly refusing to let them enter the Springfield home where they later found the body of a woman.

Authorities say Aaron Vierimaa, 41, was inside a home in the 7100 block of Healy Drive when officers were called around 6 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, no one answered the door or phone. Fairfax County Police sent additional personnel and resources to the scene and were able to enter the home three hours later.

Once inside, they found the body of Serena Hansken-Vierimaa, 41.

Aaron Vierimaa was also inside the home. He was not injured. Police have charged him with obstruction of justice.

Authorities have not commented on the relationship between the two.

The case is being treated as a suspicious death at this time. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of Hansken-Vierimaa's death.
