Some Metro clocks were not adjusted to daylight saving time by Monday morning’s commute, so some riders were charged peak fares during the off-peak hour of 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., News4 transportation reporter Adam Tuss learned.

This mistake affected about 23,000 customers, Metro told Tuss Tuesday. Apparently, it was a "global" issue, affecting the entire transit system, Metro said, but that has not been confirmed.

Metro corrected the mistake. All affected SmarTrip customers received a refund that will be reflected in their balance the next time they ride, Metro said.
