A small plane crashed Friday morning while trying to land at Carroll County Regional Airport.
The pilot of the single-engine plane, a 64-year-old man from Rockville, Md., was transported by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. He died Friday afternoon, accprdomg tp state [p;oce.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The airport is closed and will remain closed for most of the day until the runway is cleared and the investigation is complete.
