Officials say that one person may have been injured after a single-engine plane crashed in Rappahannock County, Va.

Holly Baker, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration, said that the plane went down in a field in Ammisville, Va. at approximately 1:47 p.m. Saturday. Baker said the plane was a single-engine Mooney-20 that was en route to Hagerstown, Md. from Georgetown County Airport in South Carolina.

Baker said that two people were on board the plane when it went down. The other occupant of the plane was uninjured.

It is unclear at this point exactly what caused the plane to go down. The exact extent of the damage is not known.  The FAA will be conducting an investigation into the crash.
