An elementary school student died Monday morning after a medical emergency at school.
The sixth-grader at J. Frank Dent Elementary School in Fort Washington, Md., was rushed to a hospital at about 10 a.m.
A letter sent home to Dent Elementary parents did not specify the cause of death but said it "was not in result of an injury that was sustained at the school."
Class was dismissed early Monday, and grief counselors were available to assist students.
