Singer of Va.-Based Metal Band Maintains Innocence

The frontman of Virginia-based heavy metal band Lamb of God says he'll return to the Czech Republic if necessary to stand trial in connection with a fan's death in 2010.

Randy Blythe was released last week from a Prague prison. He was arrested June 27 when he returned there to play another gig.

Police believe that during the 2010 concert an audience member climbed onto the stage and Blythe pushed him off. The fan hit the floor with his head and later died of the injuries.

In a statement Monday, Blythe maintained his innocence and called the charge against him "ludicrous." However, he says he hopes the fan's family gets the closure they need. Blythe notes that he once lost a child and understands the family's pain.
