A Bethesda man killed his elderly mother and then himself, Montgomery County police believe.
Officers responded to a building on the 1400 block of Fenwick Lane about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday for a reported assault.
The victim was found in her home with an apparent gunshot wound. She was 88. Her son also was found dead. He was 61.
He lived in Bethesda, police said. Police said when family members learned he had gone to his mother's home, they contacted police.
