Shopping Center Shooting Victim Spent Life Helping Others as Nurse

One of the victims from the shopping center shooting spree on May 6 was laid to rest on Tuesday.

Claudina Molina, 65, was shot to death by Eulalio Tordil after he tried to take her car during a two day string of violence where he killed three people and injured three others. Molina was in the parking lot of the Giant Grocery store in Aspen Hill, Maryland, when she struggled with Tordil and was killed.

Molina was remembered as a woman who spent her entire adult life helping other people as a nurse. Outside the Shrine of Saint Jude, members of her family filed out, saying good-bye to their relative. Molina's family said she was originally from Bolivia and accomplished the American dream, working 16 hours a day for the past 25 years.

Co-workers in the home health care field also talked about Molina, saying she was very well-liked by her patients and fellow nurses. They said she was hoping to retire soon.

Tordil lost his eyeglasses while struggling with Molina and may not have been able to see well enough to drive away from the scene, authorities said during his first court appearance. He was arrested a short time later and remains in jail.
