A 23-year-old man is under arrest for allegedly trying to abduct a 2-year-old boy at a Best Buy store in Germantown, Md.

According to police, Jermaine Laray Palmer grabbed the child around 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon and tried to leave the store.

The child's father, Robert Eugene Cox III, apparently saw what was happening and chased Palmer. A fight ensued between the two men, police said, and Cox was able to subdue the suspect. Other witnesses secured Palmer until officers got there.

Palmer was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, kidnapping, and destruction of property, among other charges. He's being held on a $75,000 bond.
