Police Probe Chantilly Middle School Shooting

Students reportedly shot at with BB or pellet gun

Two students at Rocky Run Middle School in Chantilly, Va., were injured after being shot at by a BB or pellet gun, according to Fairfax County Police.

Officials said a boy and girl were shot at just before 10 a.m. by an unknown person outside of the school, which is located on the 4400 block of Stringfellow Road in Chantilly.

One of the students was transported to a local hospital. Officials said the injuries are not considered to be serious.

Police said a group of juveniles was apprehended at a nearby home that is a short proximity from the school.  The juveniles are not from Rocky Run Middle School. Officials said they are from a different school. Charges are pending.

Officials said the school was secured, but was not locked down.

Friday is the last day of the year for Fairfax County Public Schools.
