A man is in critical condition after a shooting outside the Greenbelt Metro Station during the Friday evening rush, fire officials say.
The man, who is in his 20s, was shot multiple times in his leg and lower back, police said. Medics took him to a hospital and he was conscious and alert, police said.
Metro Transit Police said the shooting happened in a parking lot outside the station in Greenbelt, Maryland, about 5 p.m.
A suspect ran from the scene toward the Beltway. He was described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s who was wearing dark-colored jeans and a sweatshirt that has a gray hood and sleeves and a dark chest and back.
