Man Shot in Anacostia

Police are looking for three people in connection with the shooting of a man in southeast D.C.

The man was shot Wednesday afternoon at Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Howard Road near Thurgood Marshall Academy and the Anacostia Metro station.

The victim was treated at the scene for a while before being taken to an area hospital, News4's Pat Collins reports. His condition is unknown.

Schools in the area were locked down for about an hour and a half.

Police advised motorists to avoid the area.

It was the third of four shootings in southeast D.C. Wednesday. A teenager shot in southeast D.C. Wednesday morning apparently was shot with his own gun while attempting to rob another man. A man was shot in the foot in the 800 block of Southern Avenue about 1 p.m. And a 17-year-old was shot in the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue before 5 p.m.
