Attempted Abduction in Spotsylvania Co.

Area's third reported case in last two weeks

Sheriff's detectives in Spotsylvania County, Virginia are investigating an attempted abduction.

A 20-year-old woman called 911 Saturday afternoon and claimed that a black four-door Honda with at least three men inside pulled up alongside her as she was walking along Innisbrook Circle in the Governor's Green subdivision.

The woman said a passenger in the back seat slightly opened his door and told her "let's go."  The woman was able to run off and the car, which had no tinted windows and a Virginia license plate, sped away.  Detectives say none of the men ever got out of the car and a weapon was never shown.

The passenger who opened the door was described as a Hispanic male who appeared to be between 30 and 32 years old. He wore a black T-shirt with full neck and sleeves, blue jeans, and had a deep voice with a noticeable accent. The other passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle was described as Hispanic, with black medium length hair and a mustache.

This is the third attempted abduction reported recently in the area.  A 17-year-old woman says she was approached in Stafford on Tuesday, and a 9 year old girl also reported an attempted abduction near Fredericksburg two Fridays ago.

The Sheriff's Office says it will have an increased presence on Halloween night as a result of these incidents. In addition, officials say that patrols will be increased at school bus stops, as well as during the hours when local schools open and let out.
