Report of Sewing Needle Found in Piece of Halloween Candy, Authorities Say

    Authorities in Calvert County, Md., say they received a report of a sewing needle found inside the wrapper of a Hershey's chocolate bar.

    The report came from the St. Leonard area. The sheriff's office said around mid-day Friday that they believe this is an isolated incident.

    The investigation is ongoing.

    Authorities encourages "a careful and thorough inspection of all Halloween candy," they say. Those with concerns should contact the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at 301-475-8008.
