Severe Weather Moves Through DC Area Thursday; More Rain Ahead

Storm Team4 has declared Thursday a Weather Alert Day

The D.C. area experienced a rough commute home as severe weather moved into the region Thursday evening.

Heavy rain and gusty winds were the biggest concern as the storms blew through the area during the evening commute and overnight hours.

The weather caused significant delays for departing flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International. Flight traffic is now back to normal, according to the FAA.

The National Weather Service said emergency management officials spotted a tornado in Talbot County on the Eastern Shore Thursday afternoon.

Rain is expected on and off through the weekend. But there is some good news: With all the rain chances this weekend, temperatures will hold in the 80s.
