Sergeant Strikes Deer, Flips Into Ditch

A Maryland sergeant has been discharged from the hospital after a crash with a deer sent his car into a ditch.

Acording to a release from St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Robert Russell was driving south of Mechanicsville Tuesday morning when he struck a deer. The animal got lodged beneath his car, at which point the vehicle somehow overturned into a ditch filled with water.

Russell was transported to a local hospital and released soon after.
