    A 14 percent increase in property crime in Georgetown has prompted security cameras to go up.

    Georgetown is getting some new security cameras in hopes of stemming a rise in crime.

    The Citizens Association of Georgetown is in the process of installing cameras throughout the neighborhood. One is already in place and the plan is to install as many as 15 of them.

    According to D.C. police, there was a 14 percent increase in property crime in Georgetown last year.
