Police Arrest Second Teen in Rawlings Death

Police make an arrest in Northeast Washington

Another teenager was arrested Friday in connection to the death of George Rawlings, who was killed trying to board a bus earlier this month.

DeAngelo Edwards, 19, was arrested in Northeast DC by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to police. Edwards is the second person arrested for murder in Rawlings' death. Earlier this month, Jeffrey Britt, 17, was arrested in Landover on the same charges.

Rawlings, 21, had just been to the funeral of another teenager who was killed on Halloween when he was shot and killed at a bus stop on 14th and H Streets NE on Nov. 11.

Rawlings was the brother of DeOnté Rawlings, who was shot and killed by an off-duty D.C. cop for allegedly stealing the officer's mini bike on Sept. 17, 2007. A federal investigation later found the shooting was justified.
