Second Suspect Charged After 80-Year-Old Woman Robbed

Prince George’s County Police have identified Michael Brown, 24, of Hyattsville as the second suspect after an 80-year-old woman had her purse snatched in Accokeek, Md.

Authorities say LaJean Nicola Lancaster, 25, of Lanham held open the door for the victim and her husband, but then grabbed the woman's purse and attempted to run away.

The victim’s husband and a Good Samaritan tacked and restrained Lancaster at the scene. That's when, police say, Brown approached the scene and hit the Good Samaritan in the face in an effort to free Lancaster (pictured below, L). Brown fled after he was unsuccessful, authorities said.

Lancaster also bit both men while restrained, causing them minor injuries, according to police.

She was arrested by patrol officers at the scene and admitted her involvement in the robbery, authorities said. She has been charged with robbery and second-degree assault.

Brown (pictured below, R) was later identified and was arrested and charged with robbery and assault.
