School Locked Down After Robbery Attempt

School dismissed on time

Police locked down a school in Prince George's County Wednesday after an attempted robbery.

A man entered Fort Foote Elementary School in Fort Washington, Md., about 2:30 p.m. and attempted to rob a school employee. The culprit was scared off and fled.

It's unclear whether the culprit had a weapon.

Police searched the school and the surrounding area.

The lockdown was later lifted and school dismissed on time at 3:25 p.m.
