School Bus Driver Sentenced to 5 Years for Collision

A former school bus driver has been sentenced to five years in prison for intentionally driving her bus into an employee lounge in Prince George's County.

Theresa Douglas was sentenced in Prince George's County Circuit Court on Friday on convictions of first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property.

Douglas was trying to exact revenge on a co-worker last December when she drove her bus through the employee lounge at the Accokeek school bus lot, prosecutors said. She waited for police to come and told them they could take her to jail.

Douglas had posted on Facebook the night before the collision that she was done fighting and talking and was prepared to go to jail, prosecutors said.
