Police said an armed carjacking in Montgomery County, Md., a police chase, and shots fired ended with three people injured.
A United States Park Police officer spotted a vehicle early Saturday morning matching the description of one taken in a carjacking. Investigators said the car refused to stop and the officer fired at the vehicle.
The fleeing car crashed on southbound Bladensburg Road just south of New York Avenue in northeast Washington. Three of the vehicle occupants were transported with gunshot wounds that were non-life-threatening.
A handgun was recovered from the stolen vehicle.
