The driver of a Ride On bus has been charged in Monday's 11-vehicle crash in Montgomery County.

Walter Eugene Pardy, 58, has been charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

Police say Pardy was en route to pick up senior citizens, driving west on Nicholson Lane, when he was involved in the collision at Rockville Pike near the White Flint Mall.

No passengers were on Pardy's bus at the time, but several other people received minor injuries in the crash.

Pardy has been employed with Montgomery County since 2008. Prior to that, he worked for a transportation company contracted by the county.
