Six middle school students in Richmond face felony charges after a school bus driver was assaulted.

The Richmond Police Department says each student is charged with aggravated assault and assault by mob.

The incident occurred Tuesday morning. The 55-year-old male driver stopped the bus and called police.

Richmond Public Schools spokeswoman Felicia Cosby tells media outlets that the students have been suspended pending a disciplinary panel review. A seventh student also was suspended in connection with the incident.
