A puppy born without his front right paw received a prosthetic paw thanks to hundreds of dollars in online donations.

According to a news release from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, a pregnant border collie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina. She gave birth to 10 healthy puppies -- one of which was Evan, born without one of his front paws.

Mirah Horowitz with Lucky Dog said Evan began developing pressure sores on his leg -- his caretakers decided a prosthetic leg was the best answer.

His first prosthesis cost $550, along with $500 in veterinary visits.

Lucky Dog created an online fundraiser and raised more than the $1,200 to pay for Evan's prosthetic and veterinarian bills within two weeks.
