Reports: Jordan Zimmermann Signs with Detroit

According to multiple reports, former Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has agreed to a contract with the Detroit Tigers.

According to Fox Sports and CBS Sports, Zimmermann is expected to receive $110 million over five years with the Tigers.

Zimmermann has been an All-Star for two of the past three seasons with the Nationals. He spent his first seven seasons in Washington.

The Tigers were trying to fill a gap after their pitcher, Max Scherzer, signed a seven year deal with the Nationals.

Zimmermann had Tommy John surgery in 2009 but has consistently started more than 30 games per season for the last four years. He finished 13-10 last year with a 3.66 ERA and 164 strikeouts.
