Sheriff's deputies in Spotsylvania County are going to start wearing body cameras next year, according to The Fredericksburg Free Lance Star.
The newspaper reported that 14 of the devices were donated to the sheriff's office for a trial program.
Earlier this year, county officials approved $25,600 grant to pay for 50 body cameras.
But County Administrator Mark Taylor says there are competing public safety needs, like hiring more school resource officers.
