Regular Red Line Service Resumes After Single-Tracking

Metro resumed running trains on two tracks between Friendship Heights and Van Ness after fixing a broken rail outside the Tenleytown station.

The repairs forced single-tracking, which caused delays at the beginning of the evening rush hour.

Replacement of the 39-foot piece of rail was completed by about 5 p.m., at which point there were residual delays.
