Saved By the Light

Robber threatens woman at Va. traffic light

Saved by a green light.

A 24-year-old woman was sitting in her car at a traffic light at Lee Highway and Merrilee Drive in McLean, Va.

Nothing special about that.

But suddenly, a man in a car two vehicles behind her, got out of his vehicle, walked up to the woman and demanded money, McLean police said. He even implied he had a weapon.

Fortunately, the traffic light turned green and the woman drove off unharmed.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.  The suspect got back in his car and drove off empty handed.

Police are still searching for the guy.

He’s described as Hispanic, about 25 years old and 5-feet-10-inches tall, with a thin build. He had short, black hair; a thin mustache; freckles and a gap between his front two teeth. He wore a black, baggy T-shirt and jeans and drove a silver sedan.
