Victims and first responders of the Washington Navy Yard shooting will be honored in southeast D.C. Monday.
Secretary of the Navy Ray Maybus will host an awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
On Sept. 16, 2013, Aaron Alexis shot and killed 12 people and injured three others before he was fatally shot.
Maybus will honor the victims of the shooting and recognize the police and medical personnel who rushed to the scene.
Earlier this month, the D.C. police officer who shot and killed Alexis was honored during a ceremony.
