Good Samaritans Help Save Victims from Fiery Crash

Good Samaritans say they helped pull two victims from the fiery wreckage

Quick-thinking good Samaritans saved two people from their mangled cars after a fiery crash in Prince William County, Virginia.

The crash happened along Ridgefield Road, between Dale Boulevard and the Prince William Parkway, in Dale City. Four people were injured in the crash, authorities say.

David Ayala was driving down Ridgefield Road when he saw a Chrysler jump the median and slam head-on into a Jeep.

"I was terrified," Ayala said. "Once I saw the impact, there was flames right away on the Jeep."

That's when Ayala another bystander jumped into action. The two pulled the driver from the flaming Jeep using the sunroof.

Ayala then rescued the driver from the Chrysler, but a jammed door trapped two other passengers inside.

Cell phone video shows Prince William County police arriving moments later. Firefighters were able to rescue the remaining passengers.

Prince William County Fire department officials called four medevac helicopters for the injured. More than 10 ambulances and fire trucks were on the scene.

The condition of the four crash victims is unknown, but Ayala said they were severely injured.

"I hope everyone's okay. Everyone wants to go home every day," Ayala said.

Ridgefield Road was shut down in both directions at Hargrett Way for a time as crews cleared the scene, Prince William County Police said.
