Prince George Police Warn of Fake Fundraiser

Fraudulent form circulating in the mail

Prince George County, Va., officials are warning residents about a scam involving donations to police.
 
County police say a form is being circulated in the mail that states that it is collecting money for the Prince George County police department. The mailer asks residents to provide their credit card information to make a donation.

The department says it does not solicit for donations through the mail or by phone, and that any such requests should be ignored.
