Prince George's County Officer Charged With Leaving Accident Scene

A Prince George's County police officer has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Details of the Sunday accident weren't immediately released, but police say there were no injuries. Officer Mark Samuels-Thompson was arrested soon after the accident. Police say he was off duty at the time and in a non-departmental car.

Samuels-Thompson had already had his police powers suspended stemming from internal, unrelated charges. After the charge of leaving an accident scene is adjudicated, police say Samuels-Thompson will face an administrative hearing and possible termination.

Samuels-Thompson has been with Prince George's County police for seven years and most recently has been in an administrative role.

It's unclear whether Samuels-Thompson has an attorney.
