Leslie Johnson walks into federal court in 2011.

Former Prince George's County Council member Leslie Johnson is a free woman tonight.

Johnson was released from prison last week after serving one year for her role in a corruption scheme spearheaded by her husband, former county exective Jack Johnson. He remains behind bars.

When the couple was arrested in 2010, Leslie Johnson tried to hide thousands of dollars in her underwear.

She also admitted flushing a 100-thousand-dollar bribe check down the toilet.

Leslie Johnson served her sentence at Federal Prison Camp, Alderson in West Virginia, where Martha Stewart also served.
