Sixteen schools in Prince George's County and Montgomery County will serve free lunch to students while the school systems are closed.

Schools in both counties closed after a blizzard dumped 2 to 3 feet of snow across the region. Many students rely on their school's meal plan for nourishment, and school officials are concerned that some students are not getting the food they need.

In Prince George's County, lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the following schools:

    • Northwestern High School
      7000 Adelphi Road
      Hyattsville, MD

    • Suitland High School
      5200 Silver Hill Road
      Forestville, MD

    • William Paca Elementary School
      7801 Sheriff Road
      Landover, MD

    • Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School
      8201 15th Avenue
      Hyattsville, MD

The meals are available to all Prince George's County students.

Students in Montgomery County can get lunch at the following schools:

    • Sargent Shriver Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
    • Gaithersburg Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
    • Clopper Mill Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
    • Arcola Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
    • Harmony Hills Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

    • Capt. James Daly Elementary School between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
