Dr. Monica Goldson was named the new CEO of Prince George's County Public Schools after serving as interim.
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced the appointment Tuesday. She said 20 candidates were narrowed down to three finalists and Goldson was the clear winner.
Goldson became interim CEO last summer to replace Dr. Kevin Maxwell. She previously served as the deputy superintendent for teaching and learning in the school system.
